Breaking news, Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader fans! Recently posted to the Rogue Trader official website are two bonus characters for Forsaken Bounty (the introductory Rogue Trader adventure, available freely on June 20th at Friendly Local Game Stores participating in Free RPG Day). The two characters included in the PDF are “Malakai, a Missionary from the death world of Mortressa, and Dominik Van Goren, a nobly-born Void-Master and expert pilot.” My anticipation grows!

For starters: hell yeah!
These characters look a lot like Dark Heresy characters. New are the names of their career paths, the inclusion of special abilities, the addition of the Balanced property to the Missionary’s chainsword, and the addition of a new variety of shotgun ammunition.
The characters both feature 15 wounds each which, while rare, is certainly doable for rank 1 characters in Dark Heresy (we had one guardsman in a game with 18 wounds at rank 1). This is a very good thing; the guys at FFG seem to be acknowledging that, although your characters are operating “at a higher power level” than most acolytes of the inquisition, they are still very much human.
